Emergency Consultation
The decisions made during the first few minutes of an investigation can affect the next several years of litigation. Preparation matters. MOLAG provides:
-
Coordinated legal research
-
Technical analysis
-
Legislative monitoring
-
Regulatory updates
-
Strategic resources
-
Connections with experienced counsel familiar with these issues
This form is intended for primarily for existing, currently enrolled members to report an urgent enforcement action. Membership is required to use MOLAG services and can be discussed at time of intake. If you are contacted by law enforcement, an investigator, inspector, regulator, or agency representative:
-
Do not interfere with any lawful investigation or inspection.
-
Do not physically obstruct anyone.
-
Do not argue at the scene.
-
Do not make admissions, guesses, explanations, or statements about legal conclusions.
-
Ask for the person’s name, agency, badge number, title, phone number, and business card.
-
Ask whether they have a warrant, subpoena, citation, inspection notice, or written demand.
-
Take photos or screenshots of any documents provided, if you can do so safely and lawfully.
-
Tell the officer, agent, or investigator that you wish to contact MOLAG so MOLAG can help connect you with appropriate legal counsel.
-
Do not sign anything, consent to anything beyond what is legally required, or make statements without first speaking with counsel.
We cannot guarantee that contacting MOLAG prevents enforcement activity, citations, arrests, inspections, seizures, or other action. But we want members to know how to respond calmly, document the event, preserve their rights, and quickly get connected to someone who understands the MOLAG licensing and enforcement issues.
